Pericles, Prince of Tyre begins with the appearance of the old poet Gower, who takes the audience on a journey full of danger, love and suffering. Perikles knows about the ineffable mystery of the tyrant Antiochus and thus endangers not only himself, but also his people. During his escape he marries the princess Thaisa, who is falsely declared dead at the birth of her daughter and thrown into the sea – but she wakes up on a strange beach again. Her daughter Marina grows up with foster parents. She is kidnapped as a young girl by pirates and forced to prostitution. But the adventures and the confusion ultimately end happily: after fourteen years of separation, fate brings the family together again.
In this production, a large number of additional performers from theater, dance and music is involved, including the choir “Quintenkomplott” and the theater and dance groups of Theaterlabor.
